Wester is a German competing athlete but was born in the Gambia. She has a German father and Ghanaian mother but competes for her fathers nation. She represented Germany at the Rio Olympics in 2016, but finished way down the rankings, but she is a vastly improving athlete still in the early years of her career. She used to compete in heptathlon but has focused on her favoured Long Jump.
