Kirsten is a successful Canadian Triathlete, who competes at the very top level. She was a Silver medallist at the 2014 Commonwealth Games. At the 2016 Olympics she finished 41st, but was battling Lymes Disease. This has called her to call time on here recently, but with the chance of return when she fully recovers.

The 24 year old pays in the USA for Washington Spirit, but has also played overseas in Australia for Perth Glory, and a stint in Sweden for Vittsjo. She is a Canadian international who won Bronze at the 2016 Olympics.

Paula is a Canadian Triathlete. In 2010 and 2011 she won many medals at World Championship level, but going into the 2012 Olympics she was carrying an injury and Irony Defiency so was unable to compete as well as she might, finishing 52nd. She was left out of the 2016 Rio Olympics squad

Brittany Rogers

Brittany is a twice Olympian, competing for Canada in Artistic Gymnastics. She competed in 2012 in London, and was part of the Canada team in Rio at the 2016 Olympics, who failed to qualify for the finals. Brittany competes for her nation and at College, and at the age of 23 is becoming a veteran in her sport. With the 2017 World Championships being held in Canada, she is hoping to compete on home soil there.

Top 25 of 2016: #23 Brianne Theisen-Eaton

Brianne is back in the top 25 after missing out on the 2015 list. Her previous high of 16th han;t been matched this year, but the popular Heptathlete is constantly amongst the sites more clicked links. Although she only took Bronze at this years Olympics, she beats her last years HWiS finish despite winning Silver at last years World Championships. The Canadian, now 28, is married to to double Gold medallist in Decathlon Ashton Eaton.

She first featured on HWiS in July 2014.

Top 25 of 2016: #25 Melissa Bishop

25th spot this year goes to Canadian Middle Distance runner Melissa Bishop. Bishop actually had a relatively disappointing 2016, finishing 4th in the Olympic Final, being overtaken in the last few metres and losing out by 0.13s. She makes it to the list through huge popularity this year, from her Olympic appearances, where her hits on HWiS sky rocketed, as it did with many Olympians. Scant reward for Bishop, but indicative of how people wanted to learn more about her during Rio 2016.

Although she has finished in her main event, the 400m Hurdles where we made the Semi Finals and narrowly missed out on the final, but will still star in the 4X400m squad for Canada.At just 22 she has time on her side in her career.
