Top 25 of 2016: #1 Sam Quek

The number one and top girl on the Top 25 of 2016 list is British Hockey player Sam Quek. Sam won Gold with the British Hockey team at the 2016 Olympics in Rio, beating the Dutch team in the final. That Gold is still moderate success compared to some of her contempory's with multiple medals and other World Championships. Sam garnered huge hits by them entering the UK Celebrity Game Show ~I'm a Celebrity get Me Out of Here" which saw her hits sky rocket, She ultimately would finish 4th in that (which isn't considered in her success ratio)

Top 25 of 2016: #18 Kitty van Male

18th spot this year goes to Dutch Hockey player Kitty van Male, In a team that featured no less than 4 other HWiS alumni, Kitty was the only one to make the list, proving therefore the most popular from her squad. She first featured on HWiS in June of 2016 in the lead up to the Olympics. At those Olympics she won Silver medal for her nation, losing out to Britain in the final. As well as the Olympics, she also won Silver in the 2016 Hockey Champions Trophy.

Sam Quek is a Gold medal winning Hockey player from Great Britain. As a member of the Team GB squad at the 2016 Rio Olympics, she was a key member of the side that won Gold against the heavily favoured Dutch team. She plays club Hockey for Holcombe, and has been a member of England and Team GB squads for a number of years, being part of the England team that won the European Championships in 2015.
