Top 25 of 2016: #22 Georgie Twigg

Coming in at 22nd spot is the British Hockey star Georgie Twigg. Twigg was a part of the Olympic Gold medal winning squad, beating the highly fancied Dutch squad in the final. As part of their run to the final Twigg get a lot of attention from fans who may not have heard of her beforehand. As a consequence she scored highly on the hits this year for HWiS. This is Georgie's firt appearance in the top 25, despite appearing on the site very early on in July 2014.

Sam Quek is a Gold medal winning Hockey player from Great Britain. As a member of the Team GB squad at the 2016 Rio Olympics, she was a key member of the side that won Gold against the heavily favoured Dutch team. She plays club Hockey for Holcombe, and has been a member of England and Team GB squads for a number of years, being part of the England team that won the European Championships in 2015.

Morgan Lake is a British High Jumper who also competes in Heptathlon. Currently at the Olympics, Morgan is competing in the High Jump as the Team GB Heptathlon squad is very strong, and the 19 year will instead compete in High Jump. She has Gold medals at Junior level championships and will hope to improve upon these at senior level.

Although competing for Great Britain in the Long Jump in the Rio Olympics, but has also competed in Bobsleigh, being recruited as a Youth Olympian, and competing at the Youth Winter Olympics. She came back to Athletics, and after starting out in Heptathlon, instead chose the Long Jump. She has won a Commonwealth Silver in Long Jump, and won Silver at the European Championships in 2016. She is an outside hope of a medal in Rio.
